Traversi Scholarship Application

Now accepting applications for 2023-24

Established in memory of educator and California Museum docent Kimberley Rathjen Traversi (1966 – 2021), this field trip scholarship directly supports Museum-based learning for under-served students.

A limited number of scholarships cover admission for Title 1 schools in California for the 2023-2024 school year include:

•  California Missions Field Trip program for up to 2 classes (approximately 60 students), plus teachers and chaperones (1 chaperone for every 10 students)
• Transportation funds up to $500 per field trip

Transportation funds will be paid directly to the school, district, or transportation company upon receipt of the transportation provider’s billing statement. Billing statements must be submitted according to the following schedule:

Late or missing billing statements will result in loss of transportation grant. If the billing statement exceeds available funding ($500), the California Museum will make a partial payment. The remaining balance is the responsibility of the class/school.
