Film Screening: “The Six Triple Eight”

The California Museum is proud to present a FREE film screening of “The Six Triple Eight” on Saturday, March 1, 2025. The film is based on the story of the 6888th Central Postal Directory Battalion—the first and only all-Black, all-female battalion deployed overseas.

This inspiring unit, known as the “Six Triple Eight,” is featured in Our War Too: Women in Service, on view at the California Museum from February 4, 2025 – May 4, 2025. After the film screening, visit this powerful exhibit to experience their inspiring journey firsthand!

This FREE, one-day screening is on Saturday, March 1, 2025, during the Sacramento Area Museums’ Free Museum Weekend. No registration is required. Guests can visit the new temporary exhibit, Our War Too, for free all weekend.

Seating is first come first served. Doors open at 10:30 am.

About the Film

An army captain (Kerry Washington) leads her historic battalion of all-female soldiers as they face a mission unlike any other: to restore hope to WWII’s front lines by delivering over 17 million backlogged letters.
