As a private non-profit 501(c) 3 institution, the California Museum relies on the generosity of our community and revenue from memberships to present exhibits and programs highlighting California’s history, arts, culture and diversity.
When you become a member, you receive benefits including free admission to the Museum all year long, discounted or free admission to ticketed public programs, member discounts at the Museum Store, and reciprocal benefits at up to 1,700 institutions across North America!* Additionally, your support helps the Museum continue to offer quality programming in the coming years, meeting its mission to inspire visitors to make their own mark on history.
Four levels with a range of benefits and tax deductions are available to choose from, starting at only $50.00 per year at the Cub Club and Individual levels.

Saturday, March 29 – Sacramento Women Inspire: Historic Walking Tour
Walk through history with local author and guide Sean Manwaring, and learn about the trailblazing women of 19th and 20th-century Sacramento, featuring their stories and former residences.
Friday, April 18 – Jane Gallatin Powers: A California Modernist
Commemorate World Art Day and delve into a unique family history with author Erin Lee Gafill. As a descendant of the Mansion’s original builders, Gafill offers personal insights into the life of her great-great-grandmother, Jane Gallatin Powers, who was raised in the Mansion and later founded the groundbreaking women’s artist colony in Carmel-by-the-Sea. Includes a private tour of the Governor’s Mansion.
Saturday, May 24 – Private Tour of National Historic Landmark, Locke, California
In celebration of AAPI Month, join us for an exclusive tour of Locke. Led by longtime community members, preservationists, and Locke Foundation guides, you’ll explore the rich history of this significant Chinese American settlement.
