The California Museum’s education programs and field trip
tours offer engaging, interactive learning opportunities for K-12
grade students corresponding with exhibits on the state’s
history, arts and culture of diversity for 50,000 participants
Aligned with History-Social Science, Common Core English Language
Arts, Civics outcomes and CASEL Core Social-Emotional Learning
Competencies, all programming includes lesson plans, activity
sheets and free teacher admission, plus reduced student and
chaperone admission starting at $3.50 each.
Discounted admission is available for non-school groups of 10 or more visitors who book a reservation a minimum of 7 days in advance.
Group Tours can be upgraded to include a guided tour led by a Museum docent-led at time of reservation. In addition, boxed lunches may be ordered directly from Crisp Catering located in the Secretary of State building adjacent to the Museum.
*To receive discounted admission, reservations for a minimum of 10 paid participants are required and must be made a minimum of 7 days in advance. In addition to field trip tours, the Museum offers
the following specialized programs tailored to fit the needs of
scout troops, homeschool students and school groups with limited
field trip resources. Choose from:
Payment in full is due upon arrival and may be made by cash,
checks or major credit card only.
Sorry, purchase orders (POs) are
not accepted as payment.
Cancellations made with less than 7 days’ notice are subject
to a $50.00 cancellation fee. Cancellations made with less than
24 hours’ notice or no-shows will be invoiced for the full price
of the tour.
Price adjustments may be made for absent members of your
group upon arrival for tours paying with cash or credit card
only. No price adjustments given for groups paying by check.
Refunds provided for cancellations made with a minimum of 7
No refunds given for pre-cut checks or tours with less than 7
Chaperones or additional visitors not included on the
original group reservation must pay separately upon arrival and
are not eligible for discounted admission.
Groups arriving more than 30 minutes late forfeit their
Gallery Guide or docent.
